Elizabeth and James’ first pop-up shop

E&J Fall 2010; Photo Source: nitrolicious.comCould an E&J boutique soon follow?

There’s almost too much going on during Fashion’s Night Out this season (my, how it’s grown in one year!), but FabSugar’s team-up with Elizabeth & James would be my #1 stop if I was returning to NYFW in just a couple of weeks.

The twins agreed to work with PopSugar and FabSugar to open a pop-up shop during the month of September in the city’s West Village, giving customers the first ever chance to shop their entire collection in person. That means women’s wear and men’s wear, shoes, jewelry, TEXTILE Elizabeth & James denim, and sunglasses from resort 2010, available for pre-sale.

On September 10, the night of FNO, the girls will stop by the shop on their way to their karaoke and ping pong party at Barneys, which they’re hosting with the Proenza boys, Daphne Guinness, and of course, Simon and Julie.

If you’re going to be in NYC that night, make sure you check out the FNO website, which lets you search for events and store your plans for the night.

Oh, and that black feathered cocktail dress looks sick in person, by the way. I almost tried it on last week, but knew I wouldn’t be able to take it off.

Proenza revives interest in Gossip Girl

There are a lot of things to say about the collections from this past NYFW, and in particular, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s latest for Proenza Schouler, but let’s just be superficial for an instant.

It was the only collection that will suffice to dress all main characters on Gossip Girl, and let’s hope

a.) Eric Daman took note and

b.) Jack and Lazaro are GG fans and willing to give the show first dibs at samples.

Because after Serena’s hot mess of a season, and Little J’s trampy drug dealer look, the next installment needs fresh material, and we all need something to inspire our streetwear week after week.

Sophie Theallet wins CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award

French-born designer Sophie Theallet (who now runs shop out of Brooklyn) won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award last night in New York. Theallet, who has worked under Jean Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaïa is a womenswear designer who beat out other contestants from footwear, menswear and womenswear.

The Huffington Post calls Theallet a “Michelle Obama favorite,” and if the First Lady can do for her what she did for Thakoon, this could mean big things for the “bohemian luxe” designer. Theallet is known for taking a stand and using fashion to comment on culture (only black models walked her S/S 09 runway show), but her clothes are universally flattering. So fresh.

**Bonus: if you want to know how the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund got started, Netflix the documentary Seamless, which follows award hopefuls Doo.Ri, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough, among others.
